WMP is one of the leading independent and strategic corporate consultancies for business, media and politics.
We make sure that your communications succeed, whether you are addressing the public, the media, political institutions and policy-makers, or leaders in German and international business.
WMP’s history began in 1998 in Hamburg. Its founders included Germany’s consulting legend Roland Berger, the long-serving German foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, entrepreneurs Ulf and Ernst-Wilhelm Rittinghaus, corporate champion Ludger Staby (CEO of Reemtsma, today known as Tschibo), and the former president of the German Central Bank Karl-Otto Pöhl. The Rittinghaus brothers, who saved Saxony-based Trabant manufacturer Sachsenring from bankruptcy after Germany’s reunification, provided the seed capital.
Former adviser of German chancellor Helmut Kohl and chief editor of German tabloid BILD, Hans-Hermann Tiedje, joined WMP in 2000. His company TV Media from Ebersberg (Bavaria) and WMP merged to form WMP EuroCom AG with its corporate seat in Berlin. Today, Tiedje is majority shareholder and head of the supervisory board.
Michael Inacker has successfully headed the company as CEO since 2015, and manages it in the tradition of its founders and history. Other key personalities who helped shape WMP include media manager Bernd Schiphorst (who serves on Berlin soccer club Hertha BSC‘s supervisory board), political consultant Klaus-Peter Schmidt-Deguelle, former German economy minister Günter Rexrodt and Wendelin Wiedeking, former head of Porsche, today the second biggest shareholder after Hans-Hermann Tiedje.
